Incorporating bamboo poles into static-dynamic balance exercises—with foot contact on both a flat, reactive surface and the T-BOW® (in both stable and unstable modes)—creates excellent conditions for optimizing postural balance.
The characteristics of the T-BOW® facilitate:
Very rapid and precise postural adjustments.
Concave and convex support surfaces, as well as narrow side edges.
Stable and unstable scenarios involving a single axis of instability.
Options for use barefoot, in sports shoes, or in socks (specifically with the wooden T-BOW®).
Optimization of balance and coordination applicable to daily activities, sports, and physical therapy.
The lateral balancing on the T-BOW® placing the feet on the lateral edges forces the spiral dynamics at leg's longitudinal axis, promoting deep joint stabilization, basis of a strong spinal foundation.
Deep joint stabilization and exercises for a strong, healthy back.
The glass microspheres on the wooden T-BOW® offer heightened tactile sensitivity when used barefoot.
The bamboo pole facilitates the perception of tactile and kinesthetic cues regarding one's own body and immediate surroundings spaces, particularly around the shoulder girdle and arms. It also enables segmental balancing, which helps optimize segmental relaxation (both intra- and inter-segmental) and overall relaxation. A high-quality bamboo pole is a natural, pleasant, and motivating tool, though it can be replaced by beginner-level poles or other types of sticks.
We have selected a few photos as examples to provide ideas for designing postural balance optimization routines that engage all dimensions of the individual.
