Summary
Viparita Karani and Happy Feet on T‑BOW® (Varvara Solomonidou · AthensTrainers®)
Viparita Karani on T‑BOW®
The T‑BOW®’s 40–45° arch supports and stabilizes the lumbar spine, preventing it from “sinking” so hip-trunk structures can engage safely.
Its very reactive, anatomically adapted curve provides sensitive segmental mobilization of partially blocked vertebrae—more precise and stable than semiballs, Swiss balls, Bosu or balance domes.
Because the device preserves natural lumbar lordosis, it enables therapeutic spinal mobilization and safer abdominal strengthening through a larger, controlled range of motion.
Happy Feet (Ananda Balasana) on T‑BOW®
Classic benefits remain (stretches adductors and hamstrings, opens hips, relieves lower‑back tension, calms the nervous system, supports pelvic‑floor awareness).
Placing the T‑BOW® under the pelvis elevates the pelvis and changes the stretch angle, increasing hip mobility and using gravity to assist pelvic release and joint decompression.
The pelvic elevation plus the arch produces mild lumbar traction/decompression, benefiting the lower back and sacroiliac joints.
The T‑BOW®’s arch provides targeted mobilizing pressure to restore natural lordosis and maintain spinal alignment during these poses.
Additional notes
The curved, single‑axis, highly reactive design yields very quick, precise proprioceptive/postural adjustments across stable and unstable supports (concave/convex/edges).
Suitable for barefoot or shod use (wood version includes glass microspheres for tactile precision).

VIPARITA KARANI ON T-BOW®
The lumbar spine does not sink when you execute exercises on a T-BOW®. It is stabilised so that other parts of the body can move with safety when engaging transversus abdominus!!!
✔️The T-BOW® is a superior training tool compared to others (semiballs & plates), offers a wide range of application and is considered more versatile than any other prop. Its 40-45 degree arch is unique adapting to the lumbar spine and allows for sensitive mobilization of partially blocked vertebrae

HAPPY FEET POSE ON T-BOW®
Classic Benefits of the Happy Feet Pose (Ananda Balasana)
▪️Stretches the inner thighs (adductors) and hamstrings.
▪️Gently opens the hip joints in a safe and supported way.
▪️Relieves tension in the lower back.
▪️Calms the nervous system and reduces stress.
▪️Supports pelvic floor release and awareness.

🔝 But what happens when a T-BOW® is placed under the pelvis?
🔺The raised pelvis changes the angle of the stretch, allowing greater access to hip joint mobility.
🔺Gravity assists the natural “release” of the pelvis downward, promoting joint decompression.
🔺With the pelvis elevated and legs towards the ceiling, the lumbar spine experiences mild traction.
This creates a decompressive effect on the lower back and sacroiliac joints, ideal for releasing tension.
🔺Also, since the T-BOW® has the arch Adapted to Natural Lordosis of the Lumbar Spine:
a. Partially blocked vertebrae receive sensitive mobilizing pressure to promote the natural lordosis when lying backwards on the T-BOW®. Unlike softer tools such as Swiss balls, Bosu or Balance Dome of Technogym, the T-BOW® prevents the spine from sinking, ensuring proper alignment.
b. The T-BOW® allows maintaining a stable natural lumbar lordosis.

Arch Adapted to the Spine's Natural Anatomical Lumbar Lordosis
a. Lying backward on the T-BOW®—thanks to its high proprioceptive sensitivity—prevents the spine from sinking, allowing partially blocked vertebrae to receive mobilizing pressure that promotes natural anatomical lumbar lordosis.
b. Therapeutic segmental strengthening and mobilization of vertebrae while lying prone, sideways or supine.
c. The T-BOW® enables strengthening the abs while maintaining a stable anatomical-structural lumbar lordosis and through a greater range of motion than a flat surface.
d. Thoracic back extension, moves from kyphosis toward lordosis, staying within the T-BOW®'s 40-45-degree limit.
45-Degree Arch for the Wood T-BOW® / 40-Degree Arch for the Classic T-BOW®
Typical Profiles · Cobb Method
* Thoracic Kyphosis: 20-40 degree arch
* Lumbar Lordosis: 40-50 degree arch

Very Quick and Precise Postural Adjustment
The T-BOW®'s curved design, high reactivity, lightweight and single axis of instability promote high proprioceptive sensitivity, enabling very quick and precise postural adjustments.
* On concavity, convexity and narrow edges.
* In stable and unstable situations.
* Barefoot and with sport shoes; and with socks on the wooden version.
* Coordination and balance applicable in therapy and daily and sport activities, for all ages and performance levels.
* Deep joint stabilization & healthy back.
* Glass microspheres in the Wood T-BOW® greatly enhance tactile precision and responsiveness for barefoot use.
